Termini - Monte San Costanzo
It is the highest hill in the territory of Massa lubrense and has two peaks. On top of the eastern one (486 m ) the small white chapel of St. Costanzo (XV century) stands out. Walking around the building you can enjoy great panoramas over both Gulfs and teh Monti Lattari. The other peak is not accessible but the trails that go around the hill delightful views of the island of Capri.
we start our walking tour from Termini, which is the best point of access for this excursions.
The footpath it’s easy to find, you'll pass Via Cercito (on the left) and then Via Mitigliano on the right. After the latter junction, continue walking downhill as far as Cancello, a passage between the cliff and a rocky pinnacle, there you will start to have a great view of the XVI Century watchtower of Fossa di Papa and the island of Capri.
From here you have the opportunity of descending to punta campanella or to start climbing to San Costanzo.
From the bend you'll enjoy fantastic views of both Capri and the Jeranto bay. At about 400m of altitude you'll finally reach an extensive natural terrace with many dry stone-walls, some cypress trees and a couple of unusual stone shelters.
From there go up to the Chapel of St. Costanzo (485m) where you can enjoy a view of all the surrounding hills as far as Monte Faito. Then go back to Termini down the steps of the old mule track that cuts across the asphalt road. At your arrive by few minuts of car you will bring back to O sole mio hotel where will attends the delicious cooking of our awarded Chefs.
