Sentiero degli Dei
This ancient footpath is called Path of Gods for its fantastic position half way between the sky and the sea of Amalfi coast. It rises on average at around 500 metres above sea level. The view is incomparable and come from Praiano to Positano, so it’s the paradise for trekking and hiking lovers, but also for people how loves nature.
This excursion give the opportunity to watch the amalfi coast from another point of view, an even more fascinating side to this Coastline that very few people are aware of. The Path of Gods, originally used by pilgrims and merchants, is full of Mediterranean coastal flora and fauna, which contrast with more rugged areas of Limestone grottos and rock formation.
The excursion usually starts in Bomerano a little town near Agerola, and follows the world renowned “Path” until Nocelle. But it’s also possible to take a different point of start by Vettica Maggiore, half way from Positano and Amalfi.
Continuing from West to East towards Nocelle, we will walk through and near very unique wild Mediterranean bush, costal forests and caves suspended half way between the sky and the deep blue sea, but also through a piece of Amalfi history, visiting San Domenico Monastery.
The excursion will have a time of 4-5 hours but it’s not so much difficult, after the initial climb it will be much easy.
