Nerano - Jeranto
This excursion start from another caratheristic small town, known in all world for its fish cooking, Nerano. From its small square, where our shuttle will leave you, you must only take the main road towards Marina del Cantone and after take the path on your right which will lead you to the Jeranto Bay.
This cave, the first one in the gulf of Salerno, represents the centre of the Natural Marine Reserve. The bay is bounded by Punta Campanella to the west and Punta Penna to the east. Most of the promontory known as the Three Peaks is very interesting for its flora and is owned and managed by a private trust (F.A.I) but access is on any case free.
The first part of the naturalistic path that will lead down to the bay, offers magnificent view over Marina del Cantone, and if the weather is good you can watch the greatful landscape of Lì Galli in the background. Up to the right you can see the entrance to the Grotta delle Noglie.
After a short trekking descent toward the stones of the bay (easy to practice) you could discover all the panoramic and naturalistic view of the bay, which start from Capri and its Faraglioni, to Amalfi coast, and all the gulf of Salerno.
If you love hiking and trekking you can climb (carefully) through the scrub to the top of Punta Penna where you can have a seaview unknown to most people. For who loves acquatic sport, here it’s also possible to practice diving and and kayak tour.
